This course is designed to help providers learn to recognize abnormalities on the 12 lead ECG. Topics include errors in lead placement, axis deviation, conduction abnormalities, electrolyte imbalance effects, and chamber enlargement.  SPACE IS LIMITED, REGISTER EARLY!

Basic ECG knowledge is ESSENTIAL and will NOT be taught during this course.


Advanced practice providers including nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists and physician assistants who desire increased skill and knowledge regarding 12 lead ECG interpretation.  Physicians are welcome. The program will be useful to those in both acute and ambulatory settings. Students in APRN programs with basic ECG interpretation skills will also find this program useful, particularly if they intend to practice in this or a related specialty area.

Nursing (CNE credit)
The University of Colorado College of Nursing is approved with distinction as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Colorado Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Medical (CME credit)
An application has been submitted to the AAFP to provide CME credit for this course.  The site will be updated once approval is received. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 credit(s)™ toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. When applying for the AMA PRA, Prescribed credit earned must be reported as Prescribed, not as Category 1.

A Certificate of Attendance can be provided upon request.

If you request cancellation by 5:00 pm on Thursday, December 30, 2022, a refund will be issued less a $45.00 non-refundable processing fee.

No refunds will be granted after 12/30/22 for cancellation or non-attendance.

If the College of Nursing must cancel the event, a refund minus handling fees will be granted to participants. 

  • Early Bird rate is effective through December 23, 2022, after that the rate increases to $325.

  • Preceptors for University of Colorado are eligible for this discounted rated.

  • All participants registering as a student must email proof of student status in a graduate degree program during the current academic year to [email protected] within 72 hours of registration.

    Your registration status will be confirmed once your student status has been verified and payment is received.

    Current University of Colorado students do not need to email proof but do need to notify contact above that you are a student, so that we can cross check student status internally.
